Exploring a journey of loss, Better Than Letters was inspired by the attachment we feel to a person through their objects after they're gone and how these might say more about a person than words can.
lyrics
I'm finding pieces of you in your old room
And I put your lipstick on just to be nearer you
And in a way these things speak better than letters do
Sometimes in the night I can smell your perfume
And if I close my eyes I can almost hear you
And in a way these things speak better than letters do
But I am missing you when you're under fingertips
I find the less I do the more I cannot deal with it
I should have taken your picture every day
Though a photograph won't make you stay
Could a printed paper remember you better
Than anything I captured in my mind's eye
Just lying through the night right by your bedside
Just waiting for someone to say you're better, you're better
Now all they want to know is if I'm feeling better
And I am
But I am missing you when you're under fingertips
I find the less I do the more I cannot deal with it
I should have slowed down
Wish I could have slowed time for you
But I just don't know how
or even if you'd want me to
But I am missing you when you're under fingertips
I find the less I do the more I cannot deal with it, no
I am missing you when you're under fingertips
I find the less I do the more I think of you
I find the less I do the more I think of you
I find the less I do the more I think of . . .
