about

Crazy Boe Bentley first appeared on my high school demo album, of which there are about 50 copies. These are probably stashed at the bottom of some people's CD collections along with 5ive and Nikki Webster (not really, no one has Nikki Webster's CD). This track has now been reborn in 2013. Telling the story of Boe and his woes, it's a bit of a dirty blues number with a roller-coaster dynamic. It's also a lot of fun to sing.

lyrics

Crazy Boe Bentley is stuck in a hole, stuck in a hole
Got dumped by his girlfriend he thought she was gold but she was a mole
And now with no money he sits in the back of a cab and he groans
"There's no where to go 'cause I know that my mother won't want me back home."

Oh no, Boe Bentley has done it again to the girl
Oh no, Boe Bentley has done it again and again, again to the girl

Crazy Boe Bentley once had a job that got lost in the haze
Got caught up with women and so hasn't turned up to work now for days
He thinks he might quit if they haven't fired him by next Tuesday
But they haven't seen him so they probably don't even know his name

Oh no, Boe Bentley has done it again to his world
Oh no, Boe, you lost your money, your job and your girl
Oh no, Boe Bentley well things are not going your way
Oh no, Crazy Boe, Oh what would your mother say?

Crazy Boe Bentley wanted to make such a name for himself
And thought he could do it without ever asking somebody for help
He found out the hard way that's not exactly the way that it works
And that's why Crazy Boe Bentley turned out to be one of the world's biggest jerks

Oh no, Boe Bentley has done it again to his world
Oh no, Boe, you lost your money, your job and your girl
Oh no, Boe Bentley well things are not going your way
Oh no, Crazy Boe, Oh what would your mother say?
